Slate entered the dojo less than thirty minutes after his more academic classes had ended. He looked plenty stressed out, and their seemed to be an obvious anger in his eyes, as he tried to find something to take out his pent up aggression on. His heavy footsteps, heavy breathing pattern, and the way he clenched his fist implied he wasn't looking to spar. Unless the person sparring him would be able to handle the strength he had the potential to use. Though the nearly eight foot tall half-giant tried to call himself, as he removed his leather chest piece, to leave him in the usual pants and boots that he wore. Slate's chest was exposed to show what most would expect for someone of his size, grey skin with a fine stone quality, and a body covered primarily in muscle. The only thing breaking up the dull grey skin color was the blackish-blue markings drawn all over himself. His mutterings seemed to be a little hard to comprehend almost just angry ramblings about math, or language arts, subjects the male never really understood well. But that didn't matter as he approached the first thing he could technically hit, and just began to go to town on the wooden post. He wasn't going slow, however he did have the sense to not go full out, for the risk of breaking the wooden post. But the constant thuds of stone fists against wood was loud as it could be. Hopefully someone wasn't too annoyed with his loud 'practicing', or at least someone might try to calm the massive student down. |

Unfortunately for Slate, his constant hammering upon his wooden post was starting to get on one person's nerves. Normally, this individual couldn't have cared less about what some lesser being was doing, but he was starting to disturb some of the other students present as well. So, naturally, it'd be up to the higher life form to help allay their fears. "Oi, laddie!" Matt would shout out to the towering giant of a student, without the slightest bit of hesitation or fear in his voice. "Perhaps ye should be workin' on calmin' yerself down some before you start flailin' away at something like that. Ye could wind up hurtin' yerself." |

Slate heard the voice talking to him, which alone managed to make him turn his head, and stop what he was doing. The massive giant looked over to the post he had been hitting for a moment, before turning back to Matt, "Is this not for everyone?" He asked. He was still busy trying to catch his breath now that he was actually taking a break from his assault on the pole. He did have to respect the fact this other student approached him showing no fear, and just a hint of anger in his voice. Giving a sigh, he lowered his arms, and turned his whole body toward the other male. "Sorry...long day, just needed to hit something." He said bluntly, his words seemed forced, and he always seemed to question if he was saying the right thing with how he spoke. |

"Aye laddie," Matt calmly said to the other student, the slightest twinge of annoyance in his voice. "It is for everyone. That's why ye should be a bit calmer when ye come in here. Don't want to accidently break anything that the school will have to replace. And judgin' by the look of ye... You should be using the less fragile equipment. There's some punchin' bags meant for stronger students. It's what I prefer when I'm workin' out some issues." |

"Quit with that name. Call me Slate." He said in return, certainly his annoyance was with the nickname Matt seemed to continue to call him by. For the half-giant, his name meant plenty to him, though he didn't push the conversation past that statement. Taking a deep breath, he managed to give a partial smile, "You know about strong students? Spar with me?" He asked. Hoping to make a fairly interesting offer, that would be accepted.

Matt would give the other student a snort and a smirk at the other student's annoyance with his choice of vernacular. The boy may have disliked what Matt was calling him, but in all honesty, Matt didn't care what the other boy thought. At all. As far as he was concerned, he was old enough to call people laddie, especially considering all of them were younger than him anyways! "Oh laddie," he said once the other boy was done talking, chuckling some. "Look, I'm not into fightin' if it's not necessary. I'm a bit old to be gettin' all hot-blooded. Besides, I'm pretty sure I know how that fight turns out already. Maybe if ye didn't just flail about, I'd go for it. But ye don't have much trainin' at all, from what I can see. I'd probably wind up hurtin' ye on accident, and I really don't need that in me life right now." |
