"It's alright, miss; don't sweat it," Takeshi remarked in a reassuring tone as the rose-haired girl got all sheepish at the thought that she'd misspoken about Mihara - and correcting herself on her point, it was that she heard from a classmate about the deceased girl having taken up a part-time job at a cafe, whose name currently eluded Latia. "Cat cafe... you mean the Cute Cat Club? The one where the girls working there wear nekomimi headdress and all?" although at the mention of the place the agent would go all shifty-eyed behind his sunglasses, as if he didn't want the girl to think that he was a patron of the establishment. And it was when Latia would show Takeshi a photo of her classmate on her phone, someone whom she described as "weird", and as the picture was brought up the agent raised his eyebrows at seeing the name of said contact of Latia's. "Leon... Evitsgard," there was little doubt about who the SERAPH agent was seeing. But if the hooded magus had been in contact with Mihara - presumably before her death - why hadn't he told him anything about this? "Thank you, Ms. Kryse. That shall be all," the agent concluded as he bowed with his hands by his side as a display of thanks to allow the girl to go about her own business. It was at this time another notification would flash on his AR interface, as he received more incoming texts from Hibiki. Retrieving his phone, Takeshi would thus type his response to the idol's messages.
With that, Takeshi would briefly approach Iona while she was in the midst of her dealing with Bartimaeus. "I'll be heading to the back of the school building, meet me there when you're done," he would briefly interrupt their conversation, before leaving the sports hall to make him way to the back of the school building, making a mental note to himself to look for Leon once this was over to have a good talk with the Magus. |

"Petrifies?" the churchman responded, raising his ashen brows. "That does sound like a wayward Magus." Bartimaeus chuckled to himself, seemingly amused. "Sadly, I must say that our goals do not align; our would prefer to not do the Association's repossessioning." The Executor shook his head sadly. "My query is a Dead Apostle; we have received word that one may have made a haven in this city." He surveyed the crowd, as if saying that any of them could be an enemy. "Its hardly surprising, if it turns out to be the case. Supposing I was one, I would've chosen here to escape justice as well; as you may have experienced, we are not able to move as. . . carelessly here as we may back across the Orient." As if to prove his point, the young man gave a nod over Iona's shoulder, greeting Takeshi wordlessly as he exchanged a few words with the Enforcers. "It makes this quite an attractive sanctuary for. . . monsters." It was not until Takeshi stepped out of earshot did Bartimaeus continue. "In any case, I suppose it is time for me to excuse myself. I have no interest in competitions of physical acumen," Bartimaeus remarked, no doubt referring to the volleyball match that was to take place after the memorial. "Though, I will keep an ear open for word into your 'rumors'," Bartimaeus turned to leave. "I assume you will do the same for me?" "Back of the school?" Konosuke's voice was rife with suspicion. "Why would I go there?" But then, gazing a Diezel's vandalism of his canvas, the poor student could only let out a sigh. "Fine. . . maybe a walk will be good for me anyways." He glanced purposefully at the purple creature. "Just make sure that thing doesn't break anything, okay?" With that hopeful question, Konosuke stepped out of the door, leaving the situation in Hibiki's hands. Though he did not seem particularly in a rush, he was making his way to the back of the school. Meanwhile, Diezel would title its head at the idol's question. A ponderous gurgle slowly rose from its throat. It understood Hibiki's words, that much was certain; it also seemed to have a capacity to communicate. However, the problem was how, given that it seemed to lack the ability to speak. It then nodded its head. Taking another tube of paint, Diezel dipped the brush in, tainting the colors before scribbling another word on the canvas. "Nagisa Mihara". The original painting was more or less entirely covered now. Only the edges of the half-finished portrait remained. "No not that one. I know that one; its pretty popular. One with actual cats." Latia gave a nod as Takeshi dismissed her. "I hope you can get to the bottom of all. . . this." She responded, returning the agent's bow in kind. "The sooner we put an end to this, the better it would be for everyone." Right now, there was no closure. Whoever was responsible for these acts were still at large. If the killer happened to be serial, it would only be a matter of time until they struck again. Takeshi would arrive at the back of the school first. Though some other students were loitering about the area, they more or less cleared when the stranger made his entrance. Takeshi would only need to wait a few minutes before Konosuke stepped through the door. They made eye contact, and a resigned look came over his expression. "First a monster and now. . . I knew it was weird when someone like Akechi-san came looking for me," he admitted to no one. "Well, what do you want? Are you with the police? I've already given my statements." |

"Yeah yeah." the Magus said unconcernedly "Though, I hope you don't intend to attack them while they're here. Especially if they're a student. The school gets really upset about that." There was afterall, a peace of sorts here. Though the school tended to react more adversely to outsiders than to students turning on each other. Though... "I'm surprised they didn't send oldlady currgirl. She actually looks like she could pass for a highschool student." Iona added, after a moment's thought. The church didn't exactly have a shortage of assassins of the right age either, so they might as well have thrown one into the student body. Or maybe they have, and this was his outside support? ...Though they were usually less sloppy than that. ![]() "Nagisa...chan?" The shock was visible on her face. It was genuinely surprising. Not only that it knew about Nagisa, but that it was also looking for her. And here of all places. Though nominally in over her head, right now, this was something that boiled down to handling people in complicated circumstances. As far as she could tell, Diezel was at least, enough like a person, and an idol who couldn't handle people was hardly fit for the job. "Please just tale any of the blank canvases for this. Why are you looking for her?" she asked, her voice full of concern. |

There were a few students loitering at the back of the school building when Takeshi arrived, although it didn't take long for them to clear the scene as agent made his appearance - and not long after Konosuke would likewise arrive, eliciting a wry smile on the lips of Takeshi; Hibiki was as reliable as they come indeed. "Murakami Konosuke," Takeshi read out the boy's name as he approached. "Police? Well, you can say that. I'm Matsumoto Takeshi, SERAPH agent; and I've been assigned to oversee the ongoing investigation behind the serial petrification murders on Kaneshima," the agent introduced himself. "Of that I'm aware," he added as Konosuke remarked that he'd already made his statement to the police during the initial round of questioning. "But I'd like to talk about Ms. Nagisa, if you may?" Takeshi asked, raising a quizzical eyebrow as he adjusted his shades. "Specifically, in the past several days before her murder, has she been acting strangely? Or been in contact with anyone that seems suspicious?" he asked, trying to see if Konosuke might know anything about Mihara's activities during her final days. |

Bartimaeus raised an eyebrow. "Is that so? Well then, I'll take your words into consideration," the former missionary bowed his head. "That would complicate matters. If my query does masquerade as a student, perhaps I should follow suite." Bartimaeus chuckled to himself, finding some amusement in the thought. "Well if this rumor does bear fruit, I am sure the Academy will see the light of our justice." After all, the Assembly of the Eighth have, despite everything, been dealing with such characters ever since their foundation. "Probably still contending with the children of her last mark," Bartimaeus offered, with a slight shrug of his shoulder and shake of his head. "Despite what she may seem, or is capable of, 'oldlady curry' is still a woman at heart." Seeing the suspicion on Iona's face, Bartimaeus continued. "Do not fret, to my knowledge the assembly has no agents enrolled in this student body, aside from yourself. Even for them, I doubt they would wish to draw unwanted attention," Bartimaeus nodded once before turning towards the door of the auditorium, excusing himself. Already, most of the students had vacated, and those few who did remained either idled or set about putting away chairs. "Though, whether that remains the case will depend on my findings here. Good day, Miss Ragnall." Diezel stared blankly at Hibiki. Despite its lack of facial structure or muscles for emotions, it has been oddly animated and audible. Seeing it now, standing frozen and still, might've brought about just the slightest sense of unease. Then it nodded it's head. Just once, as if acknowledging something. Turning away from Hibiki, Diezel scrounged through the assembled canvases, its disfigured hand blemishing or tearing the parchment as he scrounged through them. At first, it seemed like he was doing just as Hibiki asked, looking for an empty canvas to continue their conversation. However, as his rummaging carried on, Hibiki would notice that both painted and fresh canvases were discarded. Finally, Diezel brought out a painting for the girl. A portrait drawn from the waist up, dated nearly a month ago in the corner. However, it was distinctly missing the face. It might take the girl awhile, but she would eventually be able to piece the identity of the person in the painting; the same name that has been all over the network, the same name of the person Diezel currently sought. "Seraph?" Konosuke spoke questioningly. It took his a few moments to place the familiar name; one of the affiliates which has funded the Academy in the first place. Konosuke consented, nodding to Takeshi to show that he had both his understanding and cooperation. However, as Takeshi stated his purpose and question, another expression crept into the placade boy's mien. His gaze became downcast, his lips drew into a thin line but, most curiously, he briefly hid his hands in fists. "I. . . don't think so. She seemed pretty normal to me when we went out- didn't I already told you guys about this? Nothing out of the ordinary happened until we started going back to the dorms." At this, a realization was able to get through the young man's stupor. "Why are you asking me this? Did you guys found something about Nagisa's death?" |

"I see... so you know." In a way, it made it easier. But then it also made things more awkward. What did it know exactly? Why would it be looking for her? What was it's relation to her She didn't recall Nagisa being into anything occult or the like. At least, not from what little rumour was about. "Then I know someone who can help you, but first I need two things, is that alright?" "Hai hai~" Iona waved him off. There was little sense keeping him there. A dead apostle was hardly her interest, and if it hadn't attacked yet, then dealing with it wasn't her problem. Right now, she had other things to worry about. Things that were more important. ...I wonder what I should have for dinner tonight? she wondered |

"I see," Takeshi nodded as Konosuke spoke his piece - and just as the boy said, it wasn't anything that he hasn't already said when he gave his statement to the police. There wasn't anything about Mihara's behaviour that could be construed as unusual, and Konosuke re-asserts that there wasn't anybody that would come across as suspicious that Mihara had hung around with. "Well, one little thing... ever seen this guy around? Supposedly he claimed to be a classmate of Mihara's," Takeshi asked as he retrieved his phone to show Konosuke the photograph of the cowled visage of one Leon Evitsgard. "Heard from an upperclassman of Mihara's, Latia Kryse- said he told her that Mihara works part time at that cat cafe or something... can you tell me anything about this fellow?" the agent asked. At the same time, he would activate his AR interface to do a quick search over the CHOIR network, plumbing the student records database of Senki Academy to see if he could find the records of the cowled magus among the student body of the academy, as a display window with a spinning icon and "searching..." message superimposed itself in the corner of his vision as Takeshi waited for the boy's response, or for his search on the CHOIR network to return results, whichever came first. |

Diezel tilted its head sideways, an imposed inquisitive motion in its listless features. It was obvious that Hibiki had the creature's full attention, as it stood silently waiting for her to speak. Konosuke turned when Takeshi brought out a picture of Leonard. For long moments, the young man stared at the photo, scrunching his eyebrows and curling his lips into a frown. "A part time job huh?" His face darkened. "I think I've seen them around the academy. Why? I don't know them. Has a weird sense of fashion, but not the most bizarre student I've seen here." He looked around, uneasy, before returning his gaze to Takeshi. "Why? Is he the suspect or something?" As for the agent's personal search, Leonard's basic information will appear in his headset. At least, it would be the information used when the Magus applied for tutelage at the Academy. Born in Brighton England in June and a member of the Mage's Association. Unsurprisingly, that is where the paper trail ends; aside from documentation provided by being a student at the Academy, there was no other information of the man. His standing with the Association? Nothing. Outside affiliation? None. Even a birth certificate was missing. Not even a photo of the Magus without his signature hood. |

"Well first," she raised a finger "Please don't damage more of the paintings okay? The grumpy guy might get upset about those." She smiled, then raised another finger. "Second, can you wait here? Someone will be along in a bit, and we can find a better way to help from there, alright?" she asked him, using her sweetest voice.
Well I could have curry again... or maybe I should walk around and try another ramen place... The enforcer's thoughts wandered as she aimlessly walked through the halls, checking her phone for suggestions on whatever might strike her fancy for the moment. ...Oh, yeah. I should probably see if whatshisface is done talking to that girl yet.

"That depends," Takeshi replied as Konosuke asked if Leon might be a suspect. "He was assisting me in the investigation of the petrification murders, but never said anything about being a student at this campus," the agent remarked. "Huh? There's something fishy about this guy," Takeshi thought as the results of searching for Leon's information proved to be sorely lacking - apart from basic information on his birthplace and being a member of the Mage Association, nothing else could be found. "It's as if officially-speaking, this guy doesn't exist," he thought, noting the lack of a birth certificate, immigration records, bank account information, etc. For all intents and purposes, an "off the grid" kind of guy. "You're free to go, Konosuke; thank you for your assistance," he added as he considered the next course of action... Till a familiar text came in, a notification flashing on his AR interface. Two, rather.
And with that, Takeshi would retrieve his phone to make a codec call to a colleague, "Yeah, talk to the student council or someone with authority on the campus, say we need to requisition writing materials from the stores for SERAPH business." Some time later... "Just remember what Takeshi said, whatever you see next in that room, react calmly and keep your weapons hidden at all times," A female voice would be heard outside the art room. "Takeshi-san sends his regards, and the writing materials," and standing at the entrance to the art room was a woman with brown hair tied up in a ponytail and hazel eyes, dressed in a black skirt suit and white shirt. ![]() Gesturing to a fellow agent - a black-haired middle-aged man in a gray suit and light blue shirt, pushing a trolley loaded with close to a dozen reams of drawing paper, along with various types of writing and drawing implements - pencils, charcoal, pens, brushes, inks, etc. "So... mind if we bring these in?" she asked, tilting her head slightly as she looked at the creature in the art room. |

Diezel nodded once, raising a finger in mimicry of the idol's own actions. It shall not vandalize any more of that poor boy's work. Following Hibiki, Diezel performed the same action with two fingers, vowing to also remain within the art room. Besides, its not like it had anywhere else to go. Konosuke nodded, solemn as Takeshi confirmed Leonard's identity. Falling silent as Takeshi dwelt within his own thoughts, Konosuke made no comment, seemingly content to stare at the school wall with absent eyes. It wasn't until Takeshi spoke did Konosuke responded. "Sorry I can't be of much help." He shuffled his feet, scoffing his heel against the dirt. "I hope you catch that guy soon." With that wish, Konosuke took his leave, heading off around the corner of the building. Just as the young man rounded the corner, the detective would receive another message. It would be the inquiry he had performed on the numbers within Alexander's phone. As expected, the large majority of the numbers belonged to various students, either from Senki Academy or the various local schools within the island. Only few did not, and the only that Alexander have called multiple times belonged to some by the name of "Megumi Ichinose". As voices came from outside the art room, Diezel stared, its beady eyes rolling towards the door. It made a sort of chortle, as if drawing Hibiki's attention to the door. When the woman and man came in, Diezel offered the duo a wave with its amorphous hand. Upon the woman's question, Diezel nodded its head energetically, seemingly happy for the company. Konosuke had been correct in saying the purple beast possessed a temperament akin to a puppy. |

![]() Leonard stood in the corner of the park, in the shade of a tree. Given the bright day, paired with his earthen attire, cloak and mask, if his intention was to be inconspicuous he was failing miserably. Alas, his desire was not to hide, at least, not completely. His hands ached, growing stiff. The gripped phone illuminated, showing the dial pad. His feet groaned, growing lead. Each moment, he felt himself sinking, falling still at the roots beneath his feet. Though he drew the occasional glance, those left him as he continued to man his post. Mask and cloak was enough to turn heads, but this was bustling fantasmagoria blessed with such a beau day; none had mind to pay to robed strangers, even despite the rumors that were circulating about. After all, the so called "murders" had all occured far from crowds, far from civilization. His eyes shaded crimson; he was running out of time. They too were constant, peering across the expanse of the park. Eye contact. A flicker in the moment, but that was all that it took. There was no going back now. Taking a step forward, Leonard could feel his hands shaking, a tingle crawling up from his toe to his core. Adrenaline coursed through his system, but it wasn't pulled by fear. Excitement, a tempo knocked out by his life beat. "You! Leonard, stop right there-!" Good, he was here. The witness. The knight. The samaritan. The one who will validate this entire chirade. Leonard quickened his steps, the desperation that echoed off his step instinctively caused other to clear a path, lest they bump into his abandon. Though Konosuke was the player, these eyes were the eyes Leonard was aiming for. Konosuke was the objective, but the crowd was the prize. Come, stand, witness and ovate! The first act is going to conclude! Behind him, he could hear hesitation, then fervent steps. The crumbling of gravel and shaking of stone; Leonard breifly wondered what was going through his mind. How does He know Nagisa? What was the connection between He and Nagisa? What had He done to Nagisa?! Wonderful questions that, judging by ferocity of the ground. Perhaps he had underestimated the geomancer's potency; it was too be expected with natural borne gifts to peak as they ride an emotional fervor. How very, very touching. But he was already there. The girl had not even moved, confounded and confused by that which drew her attention. Her phone was held up but forgotten, as she opened her mouth to exclaim words that no one would ever hear. "Leonard, step away from her!" This attracted murmurs and suspicion from the crowd. Good, very good. But already, their eyes had met; it was much too late for the damsel. The crack of forming stone. "Don't you have a some place you needed to be?" If she had an answer, Leonard never heard it. ![]() A force crashed into the hooded man's back. Leonard closed his eyes, bracing as the force overwhelmed him like cold magma. The sensation of being flung forward and then pressed down towards the ground. Flattened. Sensation began to fade from his fingers. Was he being overwhelmed from having his body crushed? Then why didn't he feel any pain? Perhaps his conciousness was fading. Blood loss? No, this was too quick, now crawling up his wrist. Loss of oxygen then? No, that was too violent, whilst he lay tranquil. Then, it dawned on him. So, this was what it felt like. He wondered if a Sealing Designation would feel much the same. Thus, the last to go was his mind. And his last thoughts were thus: Three. Three, such a perfect number. The trinity, the trifecta and the thrice great. Everything good came in threes- no wait. Four. It shoud've been four. It was definitively four. It had to be four. Truly, I have played audience for so long that I had forgotten how to act. T h e O r d i n a r y W o r l dyou couldn't breach the boundary after all end Edited by KAHO, Oct 3 2017, 12:11 PM.
