"Guys, who's that sitting behind us?"

Glance. Glance.

"That's Iona Raghnall. She's in Class A."

"What?! No way! So that is the difference one letter makes. . ."

"You can only blame fate for being in Class D."

"No, that's not who I meant! The crazy looking man beside her!"

Glance. Glance. Glance.

"Is that her dad?"

"Her dad is Jake Muller?"

"He definitively looks like a soldier type."

"Wait- shut up, I think he's staring at us!"

And thus silence returned to the row of seats in front of them.

After parting ways with Leonard at the precinct, the duo had made their way to the school. There, it only took some sparsely placed signs and a question to a passing teacher before finding themselves at the auditorium. At the far end, a table has been set up, adorned by small picture of Nagisa, identical to the shot Takeshi have found of her identification. Some flowers and bouquets have been placed around the memento, serving as a makeshift vigil. A short ditance in front of that, several rows of chairs have been pulled out for the event and most have been filled by students.

Takeshi and Iona would find themselves a few rows from the front. From their vantage, they would be able to see the entire front of the occasion without too much effort. A podium was also set up to the side, though none stood behind it despite the start of the ceremony having been five minutes passed. Left without direction, the crowd has more or less devolved to idle chatter, which only got louder and more ostentatious the further back one got. Only those at the front few rows kept a somber expression.

What's worse was that their quarry, Konosuke, was nowhere in sight.

To an outsider, the concept of a memorial for a single student by the majority of the student body seemed... gratuitous. To Iona, memorial services in general were. If something was worth remembering, you lived and kept it alive through something. These sorts of affairs were largely just a waste.

However, the biggest annoyance to her right now was instead that the target of their first interview didn't seem to be in the hall. The second biggest annoyance was this was also not the best way to go about things.

"Hey, you have official power and stuff right? Can't you just tell some official to call him to the office or something? It's not like anyone needs to know what he's being called for." she muttered at the out of place gentleman.

Meanwhile, at the said out of place gentleman's phone, a popular chatting program beeped with an alert of newly recieved messages.

About 10 metres behind them, a young girl was quietly holding her phone as she observed the service, though it seemed as if no one else had noticed her presence at the moment...

Takeshi glanced in the direction of the students who'd been whispering stuff from the row of seats in front of them as they walked into the gym hall that was currently being converted into a venue for Mihara's memorial service. The agent would first approach the shrine that'd been set up in memory of the deceased girl placing the bouquet of flowers he'd brought with him on the table before placing his hands together. Sure, he hadn't known anything about Mihara save for stuff he'd dug up about her over the various government databases, but still, it never hurt to observe some basic formalities.

And with that, Takeshi would proceed to the seats, happening to find a couple of empty ones just side-by-side with each other, a few rows away from the front. "We'll see if he turns up for the memorial service or not first - I'd say it's kinda understandable if he wants some time alone for the time being," the agent replied as Iona expressed her understandable annoyance at not being able to see Konosuke at the memorial of the girl he was supposedly dating. However, the SERAPH agent also found it understandable that perhaps, he might still be too traumatised by the entire event.

"If he doesn't show up at the end of the ceremony, then yeah, I'll look for the school staff to see if they can't just make an announcement over the PA system to call him to the staff room," the agent remarked, his voice trailing off as a notification window opened up on his AR interface, bearing an all-too-familiar sender name. Procuring his phone, the agent would check his LINE messenger before promptly typing a reply.

Work matters. And I'm not referring to the talent agency side. You know about those recent petrification murders right? SERAPH is now coordinating the investigation efforts with the death of Nagisa Mihara.

And with that, Takeshi would share a photo of Murakami Konosuke, the boy that was purportedly dating Nagisa before the time of her death.
P-san

She was dating a boy in this school prior to her death - one Murakami Konosuke. Have you seen him around?

The bustle continued around the two. Individuals and groups stepped into the auditorium, taking in the spectacle, dropping gifts at the table, taking a seat, or then simply leaving. A group broke the cusp of the doors, carrying sports equipment and in uniform, only to walk away, laughing to themselves. Others held the same idea as Iona, getting tired of this tirade, and simply abandoning their seats before making a brisk exit.

A spectacle. A few minutes more, and an actor finally takes the stage.

"Apologies for wasting your time."

Posted Image
"We had originally scheduled a guest speaker, but they are otherwise engaged." A boy with an obscene bang stood at the podium, giving an address in a complete dead pan. The subtle sound of paper could be heard from the speakers, and his eyes darted down once more.

"That being the case, the Faculty and Student Council of Senki Academy welcome you, fellow students and teachers, friends and family, in the mourning of Nagisa Mihara."

A pause, with the slight crumpling of paper.

"In light of recent events, we would like to remind students to stay on campus after hours, if possible. Avoid meandering the streets. If you must, go in groups or at least as a pair. Keep a mobile with you and know the number for emergency services. If any students feel the need to talk about their feelings or are otherwise suffering any emotional duress, please talk to councilors."

Another pause from the robotic voice.

"The auditorium is booked for one more hour for this event. Clean up for the exhibition volleyball match against HaiQ High will begin in thirty minutes, please clear the area by then unless you wish to volunteer for clean up duty. Additionally, no food or drink is allowed in the auditorium and discard all your waste matter into designated bins."

Having said his piece, the student briskly left the podium. Again, it was empty, only filled with a table, picture, and random memorabilia for someone no one really remembered.

It was all so empty.

And Murakami Konosuke, for better or for worse, was still nowhere in sight.

"Welcome? To a mourning?" Iona thought aloud, a puzzled expression on her face.

Most of it was typical and ignore-able. but this whole thing struck her as weird. She was beginning to some degree, to understand why Konosuke hadn't shown up. The idea of a large ceremony for morning was itself foreign, but if they were handled like this...

Strange though. This wasn't how it usually worked out in her Japanese anime.

"Is this how you usually do things?" she asked her companion quietly "This isnt how it goes on TV at all."

"Huh? No, not at all," Takeshi remarked as Iona asked if that was how they usually did things, because it didn't look like the stuff on television at all. "And it feels more like a public service announcement than a mourning," he added, taking note of the strangely emotionless boy who revealed that he was standing in for a guest speaker, the agent shaking his head at the student's choice of words. Welcoming someone to a mourning? Seriously?

"I'd expect at least some kind of eulogy about the deceased or something," Takeshi whispered back. But there was hardly anything resembling an eulogy - no mentions about Mihara's life or the kind of person the girl was, the typical stuff one might expect to hear in an eulogy. As he spoke, the agent would glance back at his phone at the incoming replies.

P-san

If you have CHOIR access, I'd have messaged you via that instead.

P-san

He might be in trouble if whoever that killed Mihara is also targeting those who are connected to her, hence my need to get to him ASAP. Oh wait...

"Ah, so you are here," The agent remarked as he glanced behind him to see that Hibiki was seated at one of the back rows. "Kinda busy right now."

"Well, time for Plan B," Takeshi remarked as he waited for the boy at the podium to finish his speech before getting up and straightening his shades as he walked after the boy with the flamboyant bang. "If you would excuse me, young man," Takeshi called out to the boy as he walked after him, waving a hand in the air.

"Did you mention the student council of Senki Academy just now? Would you happen to be a representative of said student council in this case?" he asked as he showed his credentials as an agent of SERAPH - the coordinators and administrators behind the Joint Campus Project that made Senki Academy a possibility in the first place.

"We need to get in contact with one Murakami Konosuke," he remarked as he showed a photo of the student on his phone. "His assistance in an ongoing investigation behind the murder of Nagisa Mihara would be much appreciated, so I'm asking if you could make an announcement to summon Mr. Murakami to the staff room?"

Takeshi's hail caused the boy to stop, turning around to regard the older man with the same dark eyes he had shown the audience. The same plastic face, with a mouthpiece that moved as he spoke. It was only when Takeshi pulled out his identification did those stone eyes erred.

"A person of higher standing, both in authority and seniority; fine, I'll answer your queries."

Blink.

"I did mention the Student Council." He gave a small shrug.

"I am the only one not predisposed at the moment." The boy nodded, as his eye quickly registered the photo Takeshi showed him. He made a small noise, one that sounded like a mix between a deflating balloon and a dying animal, quite possible the most emotion he had shown yet.

"I could."

An awkward silence soon followed.

"I would, but it is unlikely to help you. Murakami Konosuke is currently experiencing a state of rebellion; he is on campus, but refuses to heed any insturction or protocol." For a second, Takeshi might imagine the young boy gritting his teeth, the monotone shifting a note lower.

"He has refused to partake in any of his scheduled indoctrination, confining himself to the art room. Much to my ire, the instructors are being exceptionally lenient over, given recent events. I understand his emotional duress, but if this behavior becomes habituary, I will take matters into my own hands."

Another period of silence.

"If you wish to find him, I doubt he has changed his mind since this morning."

Another period of silence. This was followed by another.

. . .

Despite maintaining eye contact with Takeshi, it would seem the young boy has finished speaking- And seemed in no hurry to do anything else but stare at the agent.
Meanwhile, with Takeshi otherwise engaged in dialogue with the strange boy, Iona would find herself the source of someone's attention. However, unlike overhearing hushed whispers, it would be more of a presence nudging at her periphery.

If she were to turn-

Near the back of the auditorium, standing just behind the last row of chairs. A man with platinum hair, skin like desert sands and eyes of ruby. Those gem like eyes were locked directly onto her's. The man smiled from across the audience. Reaching into his shirt, he would withdraw a small cross-shaped pendant from his jacket, allowing Iona to witness its glamour before returning it beneath his folds.

Then, deliberately, he brought finger perpendicular to his lips, blowing softly, before gesturing to the stage-

"Umm. . . Hi, everyone. My name is Latia Kryse, and I am a member of Class 3A."

Posted Image
"I am also a member of the Track Club." A pause,
as Latia waited for a silence from the crowd; one that never came. Relenting, she pressed onward with a breath.

". . .But this isn't about me, is it? Its about Nagisa Mihara, my underclassmen, whose picture is there on that table. Thank you to those who have gathered here and to those who have come to share their condolences; I'm certain that Mihara-san's friends really appreciate it."

She paused again here, biting her lip, though out of sorrow or anxiety was uncertain.

"I didn't know Nagisa Mihara. We were in different years, different classes, different clubs and different social circles. But I saw her everyday. Everyday, after classes, when I was heading out to practice, I would walk past the art room. Everyday, she would be walking the same way."

Her hands clutched at the podium, anchoring herself.

"At first, we only walked past each other. Even then, I knew she was a shy person, the way she clutched her books close to her chest, and how she would quicken her pace just a little when I tried to say hi."

Latia smiled.

"But I remember, once, that I had hurt my ankle during practice. I ended up going through the same way the next day, at the same time. Mihara-san, she didn't rushed past me that day. She stopped, and asked me if I was feeling okay."

The pink haired girl smiled, chuckling to herself.

"I must've been limping something fearsome, like a zombie! But after that day, I decided she wasn't a bad person. She was kind. . ."

Latia bowed her head, and whispered into the microphone. So softly, that it was barely indistinguishable from the ambient static and clamor.

"And she doesn't deserve to be remembered like this."

...Huh.

That was odd.

It was also a bit of a bother. Was 1 of those bothersome church agents here too? Well, it wouldn't surprise her, but a long time of working with them had given her an impression they were really really too uptight for their own good. Most of them likewise felt that she should take things a lot more seriously instead.

She'd never entirely gotten along with them, but such things couldn't be helped she supposed.

"Is that sort of murmuring normal to this sort of thing?" she wondered, loudly enough to be audible by people next to her. "...Also theres a bunch of other people interested and keeping an eye on us."

At the other side of the room, a young girl merely faded into the crowd as she stepped back into the hallway, and walked off unnoticed. She'd seen enough.

"I see," Takeshi nodded as the speaker revealed this much, that Murakami Konosuke was still at the art room, confirming what Hibiki said earlier about their quarry at having seen him in the art room in the morning. And based on the words of the student council guy, was refusing to attend classes or partake in any school activity. Probably understandable, seeing that the boy was probably still in mourning. A notification window would open up on his AR interface, drawing his attention to his phone.

"Thank you for your assistance," Takeshi bowed as he removed his phone from his jacket to type a response to the incoming messages from Hibiki, with the idol offering to go check on Konosuke.

Student council guy told me he's still at the art room. Let me know if anything crops up.

With Hibiki taking care of the Konosuke angle, Takeshi would turn his attention back to the blonde magus, at around the same time a rose-haired girl who introduced herself as Latia began delivering an eulogy for her deceased lowerclassman. "You mean the dude over there?" the agent asked in a low whisper as Iona talked about how others were watching and following them, as he briefly turned his head in the direction of a platinum-haired man with red eyes.

"Yeah, I never really fancied those ultra-religious types," the agent added this time in a normal voice as he noted how the man took out a cross. "Definitely kind of suspicious, but it's best if we maintain a low profile and don't make it look like we're aware that we're being watched," he would go back to using a hushed whisper when speaking to Iona, trying not to let the white-haired man hear what he was saying, while at the same time sending another message to Hibiki.

The strange white haired man would remained where he stood, seemingly indifferent to the attention he had drawn from the Enforcer and agent. His attention seemed wholly focused on the individual who had just spoken. But one thing was made certain to Iona; For whatever reason, the Church has also begun to mobilize, though, for what reason remains obscured. Could they have a hand in the murders?

In any case, the man continued to fervently watch Latia as she finished her spiel. Or not, as seconds ticked audibly on the clock. Silence held the crowd, as the hunched student drew the crowd's attention more than any monotone tirade could've. After a dozen seconds, Latia

Hibiki's trek to the Art Room would be more or less uneventful. Most of the students minded their own business, though some may have given a friendly greeting. All in all, it was the same as any other day at school. Despite Takeshi's warnings, there would be no encounter with any suspicious individuals or religious zealots.

That is, until she reached the art room itself.

A hulking mass, etched with purple lines and an immaculate mane. At a word, it could be described as a mix between a man, monster and pudding, with beads for eyes and perfect mollars for teeth. The creature stood with its back to the open door way, its neck craning downwards.

"No, you can't have it!" A voice reached her from beyond the creature.

The black mass shuddered in response, emanating a sound halfway between choking and gurgling. An inhuman sound with a distinctly human voice. After being rebutted, the creature took a small step backwards,

"Kono...suke..san?" the idol's voice trailed off as she regarded the scene before her.

To her credit, she didn't scream, but she was taken aback by the sight.

It wasn't like anything that belonged in this world. It was like a twisted mockery of the human form, and it most definitely should not have been where it was. Moreover, it didn't seem like it was contained where it was.

"What... is that?"

"Hoh... I guess I'll have a word with him after this then." Iona murmured with delight as she continued to eye him.

Though she'd often worked with the church, she was just as fine getting into fights with them as she was fighting alongside them. If nothing else, they were usually thorough in their investigations, which meant he might know something they didn't. Either way, she intended to ask him. Whether he cared for it or not.

"Just don't do anything unlawful or violent while while you're at it. Not here, at any rate," Takeshi whispered back to Iona as she expressed her intention to talk to the church guy. Granted, he wasn't sure about the exact dynamics between their groups - he certainly didn't look like a mere clergyman as far as the agent was concerned, and he had a hunch that the blonde magus had some sort of past history with whatever institution that the man is from. Probably.

It was at around this time that Latia finished her eulogy for Mihara, which at least confirms that she was another person besides Konosuke with whom the deceased girl was in contact with. "Time to act," Takeshi remarked as he tapped on the frame of his shades, activating a hidden microphone on his person - disguised as an inconspicuous lapel pin on the collar of his suit - as he approached the rose-haired maiden just as she was leaving.

"Ms. Kryse, a moment of your time please?" Takeshi waved as he approached Latia, trying to get her attention. "I'm Matsumoto Takeshi, an agent of SERAPH who's investigating the murder of Nagisa Mihara," he introduced himself, procuring his SERAPH ID to the girl. "I'm just wondering, if you would be so kind as to answer some questions about Ms. Nagisa? You have my deepest condolences for your loss, but your assistance in the investigations can make a difference in our ability to bring the killer to justice."

Meanwhile, a red "REC" icon would flash in the bottom right hand corner of his AR interface, indicating that whatever Latia would say at this point would be recorded down.

Konosuke followed Hibiki's gaze, his brow furrowing and lips curling into an uneasy angle.

"I have no idea. It just came here and started making all sorts of weird noises." Konosuke shook his head. "I think its looking for something- hey, put that down!" the young man shouted as the towering finger lumbered about the room, its appendages grasping at anything it could find. Lifting canvases and knocking over brushes and paint, it was like a bull in a china shop.

The creature gave off an irritated moan.

"Just get out of here, you're making a mess out of everything!" Ineffectually, the much smaller boy tried to shove the limber creature out of the club room. The creature, to its benefit, was not hostile to Konosuke's efforts, though it was not exactly compliant either.

The beast swiveled its insectile head to and fro, searching . . .

"Eeh?"

Latia had not expected to be called after saying her spiel, especially by a voice she had never heard before. Turning, she regarded Takeshi with a mixture of surprise and anxiety.

"Murder. . . Oh, you must've heard what I said," Latia realized, her expression sober. She fell silent, putting her thoughts into order.

"Thank you. I don't mind, but I am not sure how much help I can be," the girl admitted, giving a short glance towards the agent's recording blink.

"I wasn't particularly close with Nagisa-chan. We were only passing acquaintances, but I'll answer anything I can. What would you like to know?"

"Huh..."

Well, if Takeshi was going to handle the girl, then she'd handle the churchman. After all, if he didn't want to meet about it, he wouldn't have so brazenly shown her his badge of office, she thought as she approached him.

Odd though. This wasn't normally the sort of thing the church twigged on. Was Nagisa a Christian? An agent of theirs? Or maybe they suspected a vampire or something. Well, she'd find out in short order.

It was a beat of a cheat on her part.

Some might have called it a security hazard. Some might have called it nepotism. In this case, it may have been called fortuitous.

Given who had adopted her, and perhaps, given who had sponsored that intelligence agency of theirs and made her phone, it was hardly surprising that Hibiki had a few extra features on her phone that someone had insisted on.

"Konosuke-san, perhaps we should go..." she said, raising her phone camera to see the creature as she gestured to the other student.

"It's alright, feel free to tell me what you know," Takeshi remarked, trying to use a less forceful approach at getting the girl to answer his questions - afterall, it was understandable how classmates of Mihara would be shaken up given the circumstances surrounding her death. Admittedly as Latia had said it, she wasn't particular close to Mihara - still, it was someone with whom the girl had contact with.

"Well, a simple one," the agent added in a calm voice, giving Latia a reassuring nod. "In addition to Konosuke, has Mihara been in contact with anyone else in the days prior to her murder? Like you know, anyone with whom Mihara has been hanging out that struck you as weird, or suspicious?" he asked. Then again, given the nature of the academy and the general eccentricities of those with unusual powers, "weird" may be a highly subjective term.

Meanwhile, Hibiki's attempt to get an ID on the creature in the artroom on the SERAPH database would unfortunately prove less than fruitful as the creature didn't seem to match any known creature records in the agency's database as a few seconds would pass as practically millions of photographs of all manner of creatures ranging from mundane to otherworldly was matched against the sample procured by the idol.

Unidentified organism. Possibly extraterrestrial or extradimensional in nature.

Advice: Exercise extreme caution. Do not engage unless absolutely necessary.

With no existing data on the creature that loomed before them such as its general temperament, or its capabilities, any sort of engagement with the being was a trial and error process filled with unknown risks. As such, the recommended course of action was to avoid any engagements where possible.

Ruby eyes flicked upwards at the approaching footsteps. Slowly, a deliberate crescent formed on those caramel lips.

"Bartimaeus. An honor to make your acquaintance."

Bartimaeus reclined to his full height, looking down at the shorter girl. His plastic smile remained unmoving, though his eyes now sparkled with a wry amusement.

"Chasing wayward magicians? It seems the Association is as dysfunctional as always. Have you considered joining the faith in a more permanent capacity, hmm?"

"Waka waka waka." Seeing Hibiki angle her camera at it, the creature turned, the motion causing Konosuke to tumble from the sudden lack of resistance. Bringing a disproportionate hand upwards, it preened at its immaculate mane.

"Pft."

Before giving the camera a wide smile and a peace sign.

"Pff. Pff."

"The smarts. I have no idea what it wants or what its trying to do," Konosuke murmured, as if anticipating that Hibiki would ask him. Picking himself off the ground, Konosuke stood awkwardly, glaring incredulously at the creature as it posed for Hibiki's camera.

But, like a kid, his patience was rather limited. When it became obvious that the creature had become too occupied with the camera to pay him any mind, the art member turned towards Hibiki instead.

"So, what do you want? Are you looking for paints or something?"
"In contact?" Latia repeated, before Takeshi clarified himself. Giving a silent "oh" in comprehension, the student took a moment to think.

"I. . . don't really know. I only ever saw her after class, on my way to practice." That was all; their interactions and bonds, no matter how constant, it only existed within the scope and breadth of this one scenario.

A single passing in a single hallway at a single time.

She blinked.

"Though, I haven't seen her lately. Outside the Art Room, I haven't seen her there for about a week now." Latia pursed her lips, as if trying to remember something.

"I didn't think too much about it at first, I almost forgot, but I remember one of her class mates saying something about a part time job. I think they said she was working at a cafe somewhere."

Latia shook her head.

"Can't say I have." she shrugged

It was even true. For someone who didn't even think about her status in the association, it would have been absurd to consider membership in the church. Though, if she had her way, she probably wouldn't have joined either.

"So why is the church suddenly here? Investigating something" she asked, a sly grin on her face "Or, don't tell me, my shining persona has made people fall madly in love with me? Alas, it cannot be! Our worlds are too different!"

"Isn't what that is a bigger concern than what I'm doing here?" the idol asked incredulously, snapping away several photos as she went.

At least it seemed friendly.

It couldn't have been known to the school - else it would have been in the database. But it didn't immediately respond with hostility, and there were summoners and the like in the school weren't there?

"I see," Takeshi nodded, taking in what Latia shared with him about Mihara, with her last known contact with the girl being about a week ago outside the art room. And then the rose-haired girl also added something else - about a classmate of Mihara's that works a part-time job at a local cafe. "Ah, I don't suppose you know about the name of that classmate? Or at least what he or she looks like? Or the name of the establishment this person works at?" the agent inquired.

If Latia was able to provide him with the name of the classmate, then it was a simple matter of searching through Senki Academy's student records via the CHOIR network; or failing that, Takeshi would input the appearance descriptions given by the rose-haired girl before running a match and compare with the photographs of the students stored in the school's database to come up with the closest matches.

While waiting for Latia's response, Takeshi would take the chance to answer the incoming messages from Hibiki as the notifications flashed across his AR interface, his eyes getting wide at the sight of the photograph of the creature in the art room.

If possible, see if you are able to leave the art room with Konosuke in tow. Meet me at the back of the school building. If the creature tries to stop you from leaving, or follows, let me know.

What's in a name anyways?
"What a pity," Bartimaeus responded to Iona's rejection. "Apologies. I used to do good work as a missionary, and it may have ingrained within me some habits unfitting for casual conversation." Once more he bowed, before moving onto the crux of the conversation.

"How perceptive of you, Raghnall. Though, it is more of a lead than anything else. A seed. Doing His work involves just as much stamina as devotion, as I'm sure you know."

Turning his attention to the crowd, the man's voice sobered, though that immobile smile remained.

"However, any seed, no matter how small, should be eliminated, lest they take root and bloom."

Then, Bartimaeus let out a chuckle, responding to the Iona's jest.

"Indeed, our worlds are very different. Though vows of chastity are reserved for holy women and saints, my own heart is filled with his Holy Father and Our Lord." As luck would have it, Iona has met one of the few members of the Eighth Sacrament which believed in their doctrine.

"Though, that does not mean we need be unfriendly. I wonder, is your query the same as mine?"

"Its definitively more annoying," Konosuke shook his head. "Like a giant puppy or something."

The creature turned its head and waggled its prehensile tongue at the student, probably its own equivalence to a raspberry.

When Hibiki asked for whether it had a name, it returned its blank eyes to her. Slowly, it nodded, signifying it could understands words Stretching out a hand, it snatched one of the many discarded brushes.

"Wait! Don't-!" Before Konosuke could even finish, the creature was already done.

Upon the boy's half-finished painting was the word "Diezel" scrawled in messy electric purple. The creature pointed at the foreign string of letters, gesturing between it and itself multiple times.

A look of childish anger flared briefly on Konosuke's mein before being snuffed out. His expression fell and he let out a long sigh, his eyes going to the ruined painting.

"I'm . . . don't want to deal with this. Can you just get it out of here?"
For a moment, Takeshi's response would be a puzzled look from Latia.

"Oh, I'm sorry, I may have misspoke," the bubblegum haired girl responded, her expression becoming visibly sheepish.

"I meant, I heard that Nagisa-san took a part time job at a cafe. The place was. . . I don't remember the name, but I remember him saying it was a cat cafe" Instictinvely, the girl pulled out her phone.

"If you want, I can introduce him to you. He's a student here like me, but he's a bit. . . weird." After a few taps on her screen, she would turn the screen for Takeshi to see. The phone was opened to a contacts app, or, more specifically, a single entry of the phone book.

Three things; a picture, a name and a number.

"Well Konosuke-san, I'll make sure you get all the paint, brushes and alone time you'd want if you head for the back of the school right now. I'll call the staff and try to deal with this, alright?"

Could she actually do it? ...Well, she was an idol. She did have some strings to pull if it came down to it, didn't she?

Her fingers moved quickly on her pad as she approached somewhat towards "Diezel." Though cautious, her stride was confident and more importantly, non-threatening. More like someone approaching a new pet for the first time than someone facing off a monster.

"Then, Diezel-san, what are you here for? Maybe we can help?"

Trying to send him there.

He was promised paint and being left alone after cooperating.

I'll try to talk to this at least. I suppose you and auntie owe me a favour now.

Iona simply shrugged at the Churchman's question.

"I'm just here helping someone look for some weird thing that petrifies people." the enforcer said "And you? Though that's normally not a thing the church cares about."

Unless any of the victims was one of the faithful anyway, but she doubted that. Else they'd have been on it a lot sooner.
