Saturday, after lunch. That was when Ezan has chosen to train by himself at the Dojo, a wooden dummy taking blows from his fists and feet, this time his tail was not used in any attack, his braided hair within the blue tanktop he was wearing, the coat had been left at his room, and cargo shorts made it clear he felt a little too hot this day. It was pretty clear he used his air-related abilities to cushion his blows, but even then Ezan started to feel a little sore on the back of his hand, stopping for a moment and seating down before the dummy, breathing calmly, massaging his feet. "Man, I should go a little easy on myself... Just a little...", thought he complained he kinda appreciated it, if that smirk on his face was any hint. Edited by GrimRPer, May 30 2017, 02:12 PM.

Zamari preferred training in the mountains. That much he made abundantly clear. However, there came times when it just wasn't feasible for him to leave the academy and trek all the way out there. Truthfully, the entire saga with Akio Yoichi made him weary of his usual training grounds. Since his defeat Zamari may have went up there twice. Once since the healing of his shoulder. Regardless of whether his barrier was mental or physical, Zamari was deterred from Mount Kaneshima and decided to visit the dojo as a substitute location for his daily training regiment. And who should he happen to stumble upon but Ezan, the alien lizardman who had sparred with once before. Well there's a familiar face. Something he wasn't quite used to seeing yet when he went out training. As long as he was reluctant to return to the mountain, he would have to become accustomed with sharing his space with others. And who better than to do so with than someone he already knew? "Yo!" Zamari called out as he entered the dojo. He was wearing loose fitting attire, a white t-shirt and red basketball shorts. It had been awhile since he and Ezan had their sparring match. Quite a bit had happened to Zamari since then. Whether or not he grew was presently unknown to even himself. He couldn't measure his strength in the battle against the White Giant as he was not fighting alone. Also, it was fair to share that the formidable foe would have certainly overpowered him had he went up against it without any aid. With that being the case, Zamari was curious to see just where in the power rankings he stood. He looks just as capable as before. Zamari thought as he observed Ezan, reflecting on their previous match. If we were to fight today what would be the results? Whatever they may be, for the sake of his peace at mind, they should prove to him that he indeed improved even if only a little. |

"How do you do, Zamari?", Ezan glanced over at Zamari, still satisfied with his training results, "You kinda caught me in a break from my training, haven't needed a bandage in a while, as you can see.". Yeah, it was clear: no bandages covering his entire arm length this time, not even a single scar. At worst his hands and feet had light bruises from his recent training. Ever since Ezan regained his control over his abilities he had no need to worry about it turning against him and wounding him, but he would still train hand to hand combat just to be on the safe side. |

"Been better, been worse," Zamari answered. Looking at Ezan without the bandages he made a judgement So he's gotten a bit stronger. He would not reveal it yet, but underneath his shirt, along his shoulder, was a scar from where he had been injured by the White Giant. I still have a long way to go with my endurance. Zamari's samurai form came with increased constitution. The fact that he received such a devastating injury while in it proved that he was not as strong as he could be. "I've been faring with my headband." He meant that very loosely. To an extent Zamari accepted that the spirits would always plague him. But there was still the matter of that mysterious weasel that visited him when he met Chairo. "The road ahead is still long, however." He was humble enough to vocally admit that to someone else. "How long do you plan on training?" Zamari asked, the way he presented the question hinting that he had an ulterior motive. He began stretching, starting by crossing one arm over the other. It was hard for him to hide it. He wanted another match with Ezan. Another chance to test himself. |

"Some have been a bit beaten-down by the recent incidents, though there are people getting over it by now.", with a jump he got on his feet, stretching his arms afterwards. It was clear that he used his air abilities to quickly get up, as the air around them felt a little lighter than usual. "I know the road is long, but it's good when you don't walk it alone. Anyways, training: I do plan training until Chairo comes back, he went to his brother-sister to help them fix some damages caused by the eruption.", Ezan flexed a little, as he spoke of that. |

"That was the craziest shit I've ever been through." And Zamari had seen his fair share of crazy in his life. "Truthfully, I feel that next time...and I'm certain there will be a next time...that things will be worse." Call him pessimistic but that was the way he came to see the world. "And that's why I need to get stronger." But was it really pessimistic for him to use his negative prospects as a motivation for his own growth? After cracking his knuckles, Zamari ran towards a training dummy and launched a fierce jab square in its chest. Indifferent about the impact he made he turned back to Ezan. "Well, if you don't mind, can we have another sparring match? That first one we had gave me a good idea of where I stood as a fighter." And he so needed to see if there was any chance between then and now. Though, it was already obvious to Zamari that Ezan improved as well. Their first match pushed Zamari to the edge and he was able to understand his limits without using abilities. The headband strengthened Zamari to a tier that was just above the standard for his species. Then there was the fact that Ezan had a substantial size advantage over him and a tail for support. In straight hand-to-hand combat Zamari would always be at a handicap. That was what made him his ideal sparring partner. |

"Whether next time things will be tougher or not, we will never know. It also depends on where you will be at the time, and who will be there as well.", Ezan shook his head at the idea of things getting worse if there were a next time, "But seek to be strong for the others, no matter what. That motivation alone should make you stronger." Observing Zamari launch an assault at the dummy, Ezan smirked, knowing the challenge to come. "Another sparring match, eh? I'm up to it. It should be good for you, to have an opponent that features something inhuman.", taking some distance from Zamari, he then faced him in a fighting stance. "I didn't want to rely on my extra features, but guess I should then, for the sake of helping you grow stronger.", Ezan grew in size, taking into his lizardman-sque nature, wind stirring around his hands and feet. Seems that if he moved, it would be fast. |

"In a real scenario I wouldn't expect any restraint from my foe." Zamari did not want Ezan to hold back at all. Facing off against his tail the first time taught him that he needed to always fight mindfully. Sure he could overwhelm an opponent with brute force, but his strength would not always be enough to get him by. And that was to be case for this spar as Ezan grew making a Zamari a mere pebble to his mountain. That wind. Zamari immediately took notice of the air circulating Ezan's hands and feet. Besides the tail, that was to be his main concern. I'm at an all-around disadvantage this time. As he wasn't sure how much Ezan improved, he would start the fight off utilizing what worked from their previous match and adapt as needed. Cautiously, Zamari started to pace around Ezan. He was searching for an opening to attack and was doing so quite obviously. Attacking directly from the front or the rear is a no go. He sized him up as he tried to determine the best angle. I would come in straight from the side but I'm sure he'll be able to swing that tail around. Curious to see what Ezan's reaction would be, Zamari stopped at roughly a 2 'o' clock position in front of him. He then ran towards Ezan and jumped towards his chest, drawing his fist back to punch. I'm going to avoid the face for now and try to drain him with body shots! Zamari did not intend for his first strike to be critical. Rather than trying to score big he was going to instead take shots whenever possible and let them add up gradually. |

The tip of his vibrated as if to draw Zamari's attention, while awaiting awaiting for his opponent's moves, following Zamari enough as to not leave his back exposed. Ezan was prepared for a defensive maneuver, just but his eyes would not follow Zamari well... Because he was feeling for air movement. When he felt Zamari coming, the lizardman's eyes promptly locked onto him, sidestepping the attack and going for a palm strike to his shoulder. Even if Ezan's hands moved faster than usual at this point, his strikes didn't have any added violence, and Zamari would probably or not experience it. If struck, it would be a bit difficulty for Zamari to move his right arm for a while, as the shoulder would ache, but the blow was to be cushioned by a layer of air. "You know, my kind is a pacifist... Mostly. It's kind of funny that our nature however has such a destructive power." |

Zamari predicted that Ezan just wouldn't let him score a free hit to a vital area. His previous experience taught him that. So, when Ezan swiftly retaliated against his punch with a sidestep, Zamari readied to turn intending to follow up with a kick. Unfortunately, he would not have enough time to attack again for Ezan dished out a palm strike at him. Turning in time, Zamari managed to avoid getting hit in his shoulder and blocked the strike with his left wrist. While blocking wasn't as good as dodging, the damage that would've went to his shoulder instead being delegated to his wrist, Zamari saved his recovering shoulder from taking a crucial blow. Wincing, Zamari retracted his hand and shifted back into his fighting stance. Pain settled within his wrist and he found that it was difficult for him to rotate it. I won't be able to punch with that hand for a bit. Thankfully he was a potent kicker. He could punch with his other hand but he risked straining his injured shoulder. Kicks would be lifeline for at least he next few minutes. "I could say the same about humans...except we aren't exactly pacifists." One did not have to look long to find records of warfare and other monstrosities committed by man. "One of us did try to erupt a volcano and take out the whole island after all." Humans were mostly weak and frail creatures. Those who attended Senki Academy were the exception. However, watching the six 'o' clock news taught Zamari that despite being weak that humans did possess the capacity to wipe each other off the face of their own world. Akio Yoichi verified that with his insane plan. Oh right, they were fighting. Zamari had nearly forgotten. He jumped towards Ezan and swung his right leg in a roundhouse kick aimed at his side. |

"I know that about humans... We aren't that much different, humanity has had a long story of war and violence, but also of science and art. What we do from there on will be what defines us. So to say, Akio might never get a chance to redeem himseeeeelf!", Ezan had to briefly cut off to intercept a kick, the air around his entire arm cushioning the attack. With a smirk, he created some distance between himself and Zamari after that kick, hopping to the side in a twirling move, hoping to strike Zamari on the waist with his tail... Curiously, the tail wasn't coated with air to cushion the impact, but wouldn't need cushioning really, the impact wouldn't be violent to cause substantial damage if it even connected. Landing on all four several feet from him, Ezan faced the samurai, hissing like a frilled lizard and the wind movement changing: This time it was more focused in covering face and chest. With a brief laugh, he commented "Sorry, got carried over. What I said was "Come!" |

Zamari backflipped after his kick was stopped by Ezan, landing in a crouching position. While he rebounded he didn't anticipate the incoming tail swipe which hit him on his arm. Jumping back to increase the distance that Ezan had already established, Zamari started to calculate his next move. "I often wonder if the best acts committed by humanity make up for the worst." It was odd for them to be having such a deep conversation while in the midst of a fight, and Zamari could tell it was ruining their concentration. Although it wasn't his preferred tactic it was definitely one he could use to his advantage. As long as he didn't get to ensnared in their banter. "As for Yoichi I hope the guy never sees the light of day again." He squint his eyes as he zoned in on the area he wanted to strike next. I'm going to have to try fooling me. Physically, he was inferior to Ezan in every aspect. He was going to have to fight smart. What if I went for the tail? Zamari pondered. From his previous attempts Zamari gathered that going after Ezan's most obvious vital areas would be more than a challenge he was ready to take on. Its either that of the legs. He ran straight towards Ezan and stopped when he got close, changing directions to get behind him. Exactly how he would go about taking the tail out of commission he wasn't sure. First, he needed to get behind Ezan before worrying about that. |

"Humanity has endless potential, it can take a long time for that though. As for atonement, that is in a way what my kind seeks, though I haven't heard from them in a WHIIIIIIIIILE.", Ezan started to circle him, moving similar to an animal. Having a talk was a way to reduce the tension, but that wasn't all... There was another reason he was talking to Zamari too. "You see, our little talk here has two purposes: one is to put our talk up to date, but the other one is something... Different. Talking is a distraction, but being able to carry on through both fight and distraction, is good for focus...", Ezan smirked and awaited for Zamari's approach. With a hip movement, he lashed his tail to trip Zamari who has run his way, uncertain whether would that work or not. Best case scenario: Zamari would trip. Worse one: his side, tail, legs and back would be vulnerable. |

It was mental training in addition to the physical for Zamari to fight with a distraction. He also enjoyed the conversation they were having and sought to continue it for his own benefit. "Potential can go both ways." Again, Zamari was a skeptic when it came to his kind. He was sure he had seen both the best and the worst humanity had to offer. Akio Yoichi's mad plan an example of the worst and their valiant effort to stand against him being the best. To approach Ezan's tail without anticipating that he'd use it, which he had been doing thus far, would be nonsensical for Zamari. He jumped to avoid the tail but did not pass it to go for the back. He wanted to potentially put Ezan's tail out of commission so, as he landed, he attempted to stomp down on it. |

"As proven, yes, for good or evil. I guess I could say I've seen two sides of the military forces of my kind before and I know that wEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-", Ezan gave a loud shriek of pain, as Zamari has successfully stomped on his tail, which he pulled away to massage. It was clear that it did hurt, but didn't seem it would have any lasting damage. At least now he was on his feet, rather than in a wild stance. "I think it's just muscle p-pain, and really hope for that.", Ezan blew at the stomped area, massaging a little more, before letting go and rising it behind himself, moving the tip a little and wincing a bit when the bruised area moved. "That was foolish of me, to think I could use that method... Anyways, where were we?!", Ezan entered a defensive stance, but no longer in his true form, but rather in his more human one. |

Zamari smirked as he scored on Ezan's tail. It was a rare occasion for him to do so. There were few things that could muster the feeling within him. The tail was a menace to him and it felt satisfying to get revenge on it for causing him so much trouble. That didn't mean he should get cocky for he was sure that Ezan would rebound. "I've seen all forty-two plus sides of humanity," Zamari joked. Good, evil, and everything in between. Humanity had accomplished it all plus more. Ezan significantly changed his stance which affected how Zamari analyzed him as a fighter. Will he be faster? He assumed so. He'll be on guard. Zamari decided he was going to test Ezan in this different form and fight him straight up. He rushed his opponent to aim a punch at his chest before following up with a front kick. Let's see how quick he reacts! |

"Actually, I doubt even a THOUSAND sides would define the many possible sides of any being capable of perfectly conveying emotions. Emotions are kinda scary, to be HONEST-", Ezan's method of countering Zamari's attack was... Simple: He mimicked the gestures, making their fists and legs meet. But he had a surprise element. There was nothing cushioning his counters, because he concentrated a lot of the air he controlled into a ball within his free hand, detonating it between himself and Zamari. It was just a strong burst of wind to send them four feet backwards, but that aside there was no harm. "I don't recall if I told you, when my "programing" came off, first thing I heard was #1 screaming as his body burned alive, first thing I felt was sadness, horror and guilt. Took a while to overcome, but I had a mother figure, my commander, to help me.", at first he was on his knee, but soon he hopped on his feet and bounced around a bit, sticking to a more offensive stance this time, creating cushions of air under his feet. |

"Emotions have made and broken many people." It wasn't surprising to Zamari that Ezan was able to counter his unstrategic attacks. He's able to keep up faster than I thought. Then came the shock. Zamari did not see the burst of wind coming. Thankfully, he was able to recover mid-air and land on his feet. Though, he did need a moment to regain his fighting stance. "I don't think I've heard much about your past, honestly." Some time had passed since they last talked in depth. Zamari knew that a refresher was necessary. "I can't imagine how tough that must've been." While Zamari's childhood was far from easy he had to admit that he never been through anything so harsh as having a sibling burned alive. Noticing that Ezan was possibly going on the offensive, Zamari readied to oppose him by putting up his guard. He can match my movements. Let's see if I can match his. On his end, the true purpose of the spar was to compare himself to Ezan, who he regarded as a formidable foe, and to get a measure of his own fighting ability. Now it was his turn to see how fortified his defense was. |

"It's hard to imagine, being made by a computer able to print DNA and maintain you alive in tanks as if it were an artificial womb or egg, then having your mind coded with a locking mechanism that prevents emotions from surfacing until the proper age... We were meant to be born as tools of interaction between computer and military, but to be raised as children after the programming comes off..." Suddenly, Ezan jumped towards Zamari, and began throwing punches at him, aiming for stomach and chest, but his fists were moving with a small delay between them, and aiming for different areas to make it hard to defend, made faster by breaking an opening in the air. "It sounds sad, specially because some COs sees us as robots or lowly beings... But the majority of them see us as an extension of themselves or children." |

As he awaited Ezan's next move Zamari listened as Ezan went on with his origin story. To say it was interesting was an understatement. If Zamari were to hear it back when he was in America then he would've regarded it as great material for a science fiction movie. But this was the reality he now lived in. Still he was far from accustomed to it. "The whole thing is hard for me to imagine." Ironic coming from a guy who could take the form of a samurai by simply tying a headband around his head. As Ezan rushed him he attempted to counters each of his strikes with parries and blocks accordingly. His size alone made it hard for Zamari to defend against him. His speed made it nearly impossible. While Zamari was able to fend off a portion of the strikes he was hit in both areas where Ezan had aimed. Shocked, Zamari jumped back to create distance between them and grabbed his chest and stomach. "Got me good there," he huffed as he regained his breath. "But back on topic!" Recovering, he lunged towards Ezan and dished out a chain of kicks at him aimed both high and low along his torso, as far as Zamari could reach considering that he was much shorter than Ezan. "It's great to hear there were those who cared about you nonetheless. There were those who gave me a hard time in life, a very hard time. My family helped keep the balance." Did Ezan view the COs who were good to him as family? He was curious as, given his origin, how exactly he and his species viewed the structure and what kind of familial units they had. He had a sister and other siblings but how close are they? As Zamari went at Ezan he radiated his consternation on his face. He was unaware that it influenced his kicks, the longer he dwelled on the matter the more they decreased in aggressiveness. |
